The Melbourne Album Club is an experiment in conjunction with High Note. The idea is to bring together people who love actively listening to music on a great hifi system.
Each month we'll pick a new album and get together to listen to it on vinyl – genre doesn't matter, we're just looking to sit back and enjoy some of the best records out there.
We'll meet, have a quick intro to the story of the album, then turn the lights down and listen quietly the whole way through the record. We encourage you to listen and analyse without discussion until after the record is finished.
Held in Space 2 of High Note in Northcote, we'll be listening to our records through a worldclass system. High Note uses Altec horns that once graced the Sydney Opera House and have been
restored to their former glory inside cabinets inspired by Altec’s ‘Voice of the Theatre’. Everything is then run through a special edition Condesa mixer by Mehdi El-Aquil.

And if you're interested in learning more about active listening and the importance of attention, I'd recommend starting here.
